About Rick Sweden

Kia Ora, how ya doing?

My name is Rick Sweden and I’m fortunate enough to say I’m a sun & sand, fishing & snorkeling type of guy from Auckland, New Zealand.
I was bitten by the drawing bug pretty early on as a kid & been hooked on drawing creatures & worlds ever since. After spending 3 years studying classical animation at Auckland’s ‘Freelance Animation School’, I graduated with a Diploma in ‘Classical 2D Character Animation’. I landed my first gig as a designer on the animated TV series Bro’Town. After an enjoyable 2 seasons I was fortunate enough to try my skills at nearly every aspect of production from storyboarding through to compositing.

Since then I moved to Melbourne, Australia and have been lending my drawing paw to number of studios and multiple productions. I’ve have designed over 150 animated TV episodes, modeled characters for 3D printing, designed artwork for film and documentaries.

I understand that every gig is different so I strive for my artwork to be adaptable and innovative. My ultimate aim is to produce high quality work that hits the mark and I’m happy to consider any project.

Thanks for stopping by my website – I hope you enjoy the artwork.
