About Rick Sweden
Kia Ora, how ya doing?
My name is Rick Sweden and I’m fortunate enough to say I’m a sun & sand, fishing & snorkelling type of guy from Auckland, New Zealand. At a very young age drawing ‘clicked’ with me and seldom have I considered working as anything other than an illustrator.
After spending 3 years studying classical animation I graduated from ‘Freelance Animation School’ with a Diploma in 2D Character Animation. I quickly landed my first gig as a background designer & animator on the animated TV series bro’Town. After an enjoyable 2 seasons I had dabbled in nearly every aspect of the production from storyboarding through to compositing.
Since then I moved to Melbourne, Australia and have leant my hand to productions such as ABC TV’s
‘The Flamin’ Thongs’, Cartoon Network’s ‘Exchange Student Zero’ and more recently Channel Seven’s new animated series ‘Kitty Is Not A Cat’.
In between my 2D animated TV production work I freelance as an illustrator for hire – designing, storyboarding and illustrating a range of projects across a broad range of media including film projects, corporate functions, street art and all sorts of commissioned work.
I understand that every project is different so I strive to be adaptable and innovative. My ultimate aim is to produce high quality work that hits the mark and I’m happy to consider any project.
Thanks for stopping by my website – I hope you enjoy the artwork.
