A concept painting made in Photoshop. For this piece I blended elements of photographs and digital paint to create an action-packed scene above Melbourne city.
For this production design I used a large panoramic photo plate of Flinders St, St Paul's Cathedral and Young and Jacksons. Then I digitally painted over the photograph using Photoshop. The treatment script read "Australian Army is fighting off a huge, horrible space alien stomping through Melbourne's CBD".
This was a very quick conceptual design. For this piece I wanted to illustrate characters exploring highrise platforms hundreds of floors above ground..
This character design I made in Photoshop. This method consists of blending photographs and painting the details onto the characters face. Painting this character traditionally would take a long time to create, however by using this technique I can produce interesting designs very quickly.
For this character design I painted over an existing 3D model using photoshop. This was to provide a quick colour design for the style and look of the character.

Here are some of my Production Design Backgrounds I made for the studio. These were used by the director and layout artists to design and compose the scenes. Afterwards, the animtaors drew the backgrounds into the scenes using my production designs as reference.
